There are many options for customizing notification
You can customize the text of messages, using placeholders to send current values.
Example:
Message from server room {now}. Change status {label} from {oldstatus} to {newstatus}. Current value: {value} degrees Celsius
This Message is sent as follows:
Message from server room: 01/31/2003 14:32. Change status Server1 from normal to high. Current value: 35.17 degrees Celsius
For SMS notification you need no special hardware: no modem, ISDN or GSM card!
All you need is internet access via port 80 (HTTP). This also works with proxies or firewalls!
